David James Kubiski, 29, caught the attention of deputies last Friday shortly after 2 p.m. as his 1994 Green Toyota Camry sped into Nicholson, swerved into the grassy median, returned to the roadway and struck another car without stopping, according to the sheriff's office. The car, which was chased or followed by a large orange pickup truck, turned left onto Georgia Highway 335.
Kubiski stopped after three sheriff's cars boxed him in on Ga. 335. When a deputy approached the car, he saw that both of the car's airbags had been deployed.
"I think I hit something," Kubiski said, according to the deputy's report.
Kubiski, who had just left his brother's graduation party, was arrested and charged with DUI and several other traffic violations, according to the report.
